I think it can be done, but it's going to have to be spd.. I got some shimano mt22 for around $55, and some carve pedals for $35 from performance. They work ok, but as said before, MTB isn't the best...

Yea.. It was an '09, purchased August 2010. They had it on clearance plus 10% off, plus 20% in points. My brother was buying a bike, so he gave me money for the points. Worked out GREAT for me.
