I got a new roadie last year, it came with Ultegra R8000 rim brakes. They aren't quite disc brake level performance, but they are a huge improvement over any rim brake I've ever had in the past. I...

PSI is pounds/square inch = force density, not a weight. If it was a weight few would be able to lift their road bikes with two 100+lb tires.

The best way I've found to think about tire pressure...

Here's one thing you can do. It's easy and relatively cheap.

If blue moons happen all the time in your neck of the woods, I'll agree. I'm pretty-much guaranteed to come across at least 1 jerk driver on any given ~40 mile road ride. Whether it's getting...

I once had two high school kids in a car coming at me on a road with wide shoulders turn across the road and aim right at me, stop just short of the shoulder and the passenger threw their fast-food...

Sure thing Archimedes. ;-) But if you need a 12" long brake lever with 6" of travel to get your 1-finger braking that's not really practical.

Got specs? They are out of stock according to the link above, and no specs. Redline's own website doesn't even list them, perhaps they are no longer in production?

My old road bike is a Redline,...

If we can't compare, why is it even being discussed? The point was made with regard to braking power. For the record, my 2003 with the mechanical BB7s has smaller rotors than either of the my...

Disagree on the mechanical vs hydraulic disc braking power, although the quality of the type of brake certainly makes a difference. I have Avid BB7's (mechanical) on my 2003 Giant Rainier (really...

What size tire? I have two sets of 4.8" x 26", one is 15psi max, the other is 20 psi max. Either gets to be a rough mtb trail ride above 8-9psi. I've gone below 2psi for deep snow riding.

Pick Two:

Put "Light" in place of "Fast" and I think the same applies...

Also, a word of caution on the Target/Walmart/whatever $200-300 models - they tend to be VERY heavy with really cheap components and tires.
