I am a smaller guy 5'6" and i have a 7.3fx in 17.5 size and it fits me just fine. I see your looking at the 7.1 - you might think about the 7.3 for the different grips and gloves help alot.

I went in to look at the 7.2 but got the 7.3 because of the upgrades -- the 7.3 is a good balance for the FX line i think. I didn't think the extra cost going higher up the FX line was worth it for...

Agree with others here -- go to a good bike shop and test ride a few bikes. There are some good bikes in that range, you have alot of options. I have a Trek 7.3fx that was $650 and i love it.

When i got my 7.3FX the bike shop said to keep the tires up to 80psi -- the tire says max is 85. I have been running 80psi and have over 650 miles on them and doing fine.
