do master links wear out?

I have been using a wipperman connex link on several dura-ace chains for a total @ 4000 miles
never had any issues, do they wear out?

Besides the bling factor... If I was not going to get the UT...

get the 5.9 chain, if old chain was shifting nicely lay old chain next to new one, using your chain tool cut to same length. assemble with a wipperman link for a shimano 10 sp chain and you are good...

Will the 2007 CN-7801 dura-ace super narrow chain work with the wipperman 6.1 connex link?
I was told the 7801 is narrower than the 7800 which is what I am replacing.
