Interesting - if yours is a 1995, I wonder what year mine is (I'm the OP). I thought it was about the same age, but the graphics are quite a bit different.

It does have V-brakes (Shimano XT specifically) but the pads absolutely need replacing. That's a $30 fix.

Old thread, but to be definitive - 1998 Stumpjumpers had Answer Manitou forks. I have one in my garage. They had been using Judy forks through 1997.

It might not make sense to use one of these...
