Hmm, didnt think of that. This frame isnt made of oversized tubing though, like the later cro moly Treks. I havent actually compared it, but I assumed that the tubes were pretty close to road bike...

Cool thread. I'm about to do a similar build myself. I recently picked up a '91 Trek 750 frame - these were lugged, double butted cro-moly. and used 700c wheels. I'm slowly getting the parts together...
