I didn't cold set my Miyata 710 (on the previous page) but I did realign the rd hanger. I don't find it difficult to remove the rear wheel with the bike resting upside down on its saddle and bars.

Good luck, and pictures would really help. Whatever you do, save the piggy-back shifters and assembly. They are often ratcheting Suntours and have many fans who will take them off of your hands,...
