Looks like a good idea. Those frames- rigid cromo mtbs late 80's early 90's- are pretty sturdy, and riding it strictly on the road or light trail shouldn't...

I think this is a 1991-1992 Asian Schwinn/Paramount MTB- series 30 PDG. It is a nice riding bike-unfortunately it is too tall for me(18") so it will be moving on .

Trek 800 Trek 950

Here are a couple of not too vintage Treks.They make great city/urban go anywhere bikes.They are obviously not period correct.The 950 is 1992-1993-the last of the lugged made in USA frames,I think.
