Lights made for dynamos tolerate input voltage of 30 or 40 volts, so you'll be fine. The new lights made for dynamos are pretty darned good, especially from Busch and Müller.

It's a fair enough description but to each his own. I ride derailleur bikes because I like them. I can bring my bike inside and wash it in a warm home using a bucket of hot water.

Buglady you know they use soft metal on axle nuts on purpose, right? Sturmey Archer knew the wisdom of this long ago. It's to prevent stripping the threads on the axle which is much harder to replace.
