nope, been there done that with lead acids, trust me. go for a say 25 amp/hour lithium. Samsung cells about $420 but lasts forever!

Your right, the system has to be cleaned with denatured alcohol first to remove all traces of mineral oil. you cannot even mix regular car brake fluid with car silicone brake fluid.
