No, sounds about right to me. I run 40:17 so im really low. I once read traditional fixed gears ran about 63 gear inches to develop spin. Windy? No problem. Big hill? No problem.

Coaster brake hubs are super common hubs and any lbs prolly has one laying around in back. I bought my 36 hole hub with any size sprocket i wanted for 15 bucks and it had never been laced.
