Me too actually. In this case it was a necessity, not for bonus ad revenue (I don't use a tons of ads anyway) but because having 16 animated gifs on one page made it take about 5 minutes to load! :)

Most bike brands do, especially if you bought it boxed. Home builders tend to cut corners and forget stuff. Most shops charge less than $30, so I'd consider it worthwhile for the peace of mind.

I'm currently riding a Norco XFR and it's a blast, especially in the city with trails nearby. The hydraulic brakes are awesome. Lockout fork is a must for this kind of riding, IMO.
