I saw him riding it today and I think he just set the post too high for his leg length. It looked like he was barely touching the pedal with his forefoot when his legs were fully extended.

I put some cork tape under mine to give me some padding. I just cut out a strip of it and laid it on the bar (didn't wrap it) and then wrapped the microtex tape over that.

On the ride in (slight tailwind), I was averaging 17mph. On the ride back (terrible headwind), I was averaging 13mph. On a normal ride without any wind, I can average 16mph throughout.
