It does affect handling. But less than one might guess. The frame is intended to run with 29er wheels, and the 26 rims with 4 inch wide tires comes out to about the same diameter. So the geometry...

I suppose it would be prudent to re-true that front wheel. I think I can make out a flat spot, but its kind of a grainy picture. Might want to have a look at that crank arm too.
