After I stripped it back down to just the frame...

After I stripped it back down to just the frame and fork and thouroghly cleaned it I swapped out the brakes, headset,seatpost,collar nut,added a chain tensioner so I don't depend on a magic...

It sure is. It's the only way to adjust the crappy brakes without having to shorten/lengnthen the straddle cable or yoke. I couldn't fit one on the front because I had to bodge it with a V brake...
