Good point on air circulation. So now I'm thinking maybe a mesh top vs solid with tiny holes might provide more ventilation and be slightly cooler.

Shoe color and foot temp

Are white shoes noticeably cooler temperature wise than black shoes? I only have black and my feet get warm in the summer. Wondering if white would make a noticeable difference. For reference,...

Logos stay

I don't remove them but prefer a cleaner look. I think it's dumb for Trek to have their name in 6 visible locations on each side.

I do remove the dealership logo from my cars. I consider that...

What to look for 2009 used bike purchase

considering a 2009 Trek Madone 5.5. I have < 2yrs riding but have done a lot of my own maintenance like repacking bearings on pedals and wheel hubs but that's about it. This would be a carbon frame...

Amount of contact between shoe and pedal

If I stand up on the pedals and put all my weight on one side, I can twist (float) my shoe easily with a metal on metal feel. This tells me the only contact between my foot and the pedal is the...

I don't think I've seen anything that says lights make me LESS visible so I'll continue to use them, even if it's a minor gain, along with every other option I can to keep myself safe.

What's your best "find" while riding?

I've seen enough nuts, bolts and bungee cords to start a hardware store. And I saw a hammer the other day.

It got me wondering, what other cool things have people found on a ride?

I was in the mid 60's and a buddy said "Hey, try a faster cadence" I did, now about 80rmp and I like it a lot more.

I downloaded a bunch of 80-85bpm songs and played them to get the cadence...

Value of tire liners

Are tire liners like Mr Tuffys worth it or is something that will puncture the tire going to puncture the liner as well?

Thx!

Good points, especially about the brake lights being seen. Maybe I'll just keep a towel in the car and wipe them off when I get there. Lots cheaper too!!

I tried 65 in the front and 75 in the back over 15 miles and there was a noticeable difference. I'm not too worried about fast downhills here in the midwest US. Most of ours are about the size of...

Conti 5000 PSI for comfort

I purchased some Continental GP 5000 700x32c tires for my road bike. Recommended PSI from their website is 85-100 but the bumps are harder than I expected at 80psi.

I'm wonder what psi others...

I contacted Trek and they said it shouldn't be a problem so I purchased a second unit for my wife's bike. No issues at all.

If I barely break a sweat they get washed in the shower with me then hung to dry. Heavier sweat they go in the wash with a load of laundry.
I don't hand wash 2x in a row though.
