I too have to stare at the powertap in the first couple of minutes to not let myself go nuts.. I have a ~7 minute uphill tt in about a month where this is key.

Tubs or clinchers will come off in that situation if it lands right.. you're not supposed to have a wheel go airborn and come down sideways at 30 mph..

Cannondale does/did use starnuts on some carbon forks. There is no issue using it...

Its only a 6hour difference.. Do the races earlier in the morning, like 9am starts. Let the riders stay or a relatively normal sleep schedule and they'll be fine.
