My ideal weight would be at the heavier end of the BMI recommended for my height. I agree that the lower end recommendations are just to low.

Congrats! I also purchased a Trek 1000 two years ago from Craigslist. It has served me well and I have had no problems. I'm sure your trek 1.1 will last you as long as you need.
