I agree. This looks much better with the colors restored even if there's no help for the missing chrome. On this shifter, the colors were gone but the chrome was still intact. There is no chrome in...

I've never had one of these quadrant shifters, but if they're like the later triggers, that's an embossed brass face plate on the front. The chrome on the trigger face plates is quite delicate. It's...

The steering is quick. Great for dodging potholes. I do think the ride is a bit more harsh than other touring bikes. ryansu has the right idea with the sprung Brooks saddle. Very pretty bike. The big...

I agree. I also feel a similar level of exertion climbing with either my Rudge 3 speed geared at 48x22 or my Raleigh USA hybrid with it's extra low granny. Both these have plain push pedals. For me,...

Beautiful bike. Nice work. The brown torpedo grips go well with the saddle and red color. Those really are NOS Hercules pedals. Quite a rare find. Original Herc-O-Matic shifter too.

I used alloy rims on my scorcher and they do give the bike a more sporty feel. I never got the old Endricks truly round but these trued up perfectly without much fuss. Something did happen to me, so...

If you do end up buying this one and it does turn out to be too short to fit you, there is a fix. You replace the stem with a longer one that can be tightened in a safe position in the fork tube...

Looks to be in very good condition. Should be a sticker somewhere stating the country of manufacture. The only issue I see is that this is a short frame and it looks like a taller person was riding...

The Super Course was a medium priced model. The important factor is that it has a Reynolds 531 tube frame like the original club bikes. What you're talking about is what we call a scorcher. That is...

There is another option. A daydream of mine that unfortunately isn't practical for me since my old body can't take much time on drop bars anymore. I'd start with a Raleigh Super Course frameset. Find...

Goes to show, it's the motor that counts. Looks like you have a 48T chain ring. The standard cog on Sturmey Archer AW hubs is 18T, so that's pretty tall. In my younger years I spent a lot of time...
