Yes! The bikes don't change much as model years go by. They will put different forks on the bikes or claim lighter weight, but you get your best deals from previous models.

I'm with these guys. The Race Face Prodigy is not really an upgrade from the Strong Arm cranks. The Turbines or LPs are a much better upgrade.

Dude, you need to get rid of the frame. I would not persue this anymore. That frame is not good, the structural rigidity of the frame was gone once it was cut and welded.

You need to give it up.
