I've carried spokes on 1400km and 1700km tours, but never needed to use them. Along with spokes, I carried a lockring tool, chainwhip and adjustable wrench. Kind of a waste to take such heavy things...

I always loved driving up the northern peninsula every summer, though the roads weren't in that ideal of a state. Most of the way up that highway is right on the ocean and I find it really beautiful....
