For you, discs are overkill. Even I my local area, no one needs them. 30 miles from Phoenix, and it’s not pancake flat.

the thing about the weight difference is that I don't give a **** about the weight, if it's a pound or less. The performance difference is huge, and my CF rims are no longer a consumable.

To be totally honest, I had no brakes after that, but it happened on a FG bike.

I occasionally see cassette alignment issues, but I wouldn't call it common. More often than not, it works...
