That's a shame. Try Michelin Endurance, it's more of a road tire, the 4 is not made to get a lot of mileage, even though they're not much lighter anyway. I went from Conti gator skins to Endurance...

I did notice a much smoother ride going up hills when I changed from a cheap truactiv to a Chris King BB. That was 8 years ago. That might be the only difference.

Well my bike has a sticker on the down tube , built to go fast, but not with me on it! I cruise at 25 or so and break downhill. 35 a few times on a hot summer day downhill.

Ah! That's my all time favorite. My 04 LeMond is still beautiful. I still ride it although I like the Lynskey for long rides. Both very smooth!

My little teeny bag sits kind of under the seat....

My little teeny bag sits kind of under the seat. I cut the velcro straps off that go around the seat post. There's no weight in the bag that you need all the straps.

I have dura ace 7800 everything. Thousands of miles on it. Can't imagine anything
shifting and performing better. I guess electronic would be quicker I don't know
about smoother.

I know my limitations. I do alot of my own, but stop at crank removal, sprocket replacement etc.
I do all the maintenance though. That is enjoyable still.
