What a kludge  I drill out half the spline on my crank arm, I'll be a little nervous standing to climb. Darwin :thumb: Thanks for posting, though. It's fun to see the weird stuff folks think up.

Yep, they are proud of their large rings. I'm using a 46-34 on one road bike and I rarely miss the 50. If it's a nicer crank than what you have on another bike, may as well give it a try.

It doesn't and that's the issue with GRX discussed earlier in this thread and elsewhere. I expect we'll see some reports soon, since the cranks are finally available. I think OP posted that he had...

The GRX crank will be compatible with the rest of your set up, with the possible exception of the front derailleur. Read about that earlier in this thread.

I think you'll like it if you find a 34. I've been riding the 46-34 for a week or so and the 46 is much more useful for me than the 50. Shifting between the two is fine. I was surprised how much I...

You should be able to easily replace the 36 with a 34. The CX70 is nice stuff. I got one of the 46 outer rings to replace the 50 on an Ultegra 10 speed and like it well enough I'll do the same with...

Yes it should if the FD will clear the 34 after it is moved down. It's set now for the 50, I'll leave it there until I can get an idea of how it will act with the 34 if moved. I don't want to mess up...

Thanks. I'm about to replace the 50 on a 50-34 with a 46. I think I'll just leave the FD where it is to start with, rather than lowering it for the 46.
