They have walking/bike paths in the towns but just roads between the towns. I had no issues riding on the roads, except when you have a 20 mph headwind, which was not fun...

It's a 10s. As for the build if I go that way, my LBS will most likely do it. I am not racing, just like casual rides ad a few century rides a year.
