Nope he rode the OCLV carbon in 1999, last aluminum would have been Pantani the year before in 1998 on an aluminum Bianchi. Ullrich also won in 1997 on an aluminum Pinarello.

Personally I'd go for a straight blade Alpha Q fork or an Easton Ec90 rather than the curved blade Alpha Q you have on now. For purely cosmetic reasons I would also pick a color and carry it though...

It's probably going to cost about the same to replace chain rings and get a new high quality bottom bracket as a new crankset. Personally I would get the Ultegra setup from pbk.

You could get a pair that use RX inserts rather than lenses. That way you wouldn't have to buy multiple pairs of rx lenses but could just swap out standard lenses for different conditions.
