I've seen a lot of pretty cool (and nice) vintage road bikes on Craigslist in my area for $150-$250. Something like that should be good enough for what you're trying to accomplish. And MUCH better...

BOA dials make for the easiest on-the-bike shoe adjustments of any closure system. That's the one thing I miss in not having them.

Oakley prescription is the only way to go, IMO. Well worth the $. They have the wrap-style prescription nailed to perfection. The optics and prescription-specific lenses are the best quality.

And aluminum is not very repairable, so that would have to be a complete replacement if broken. Cost?
