Just don't see much aluminum on road bike forks is all. Based on steel and carbon fiber being used so much more I tend to think they're better for the task, but I'm no expert on this.

I have a 1981 Miyata 912 frame and a 1986 710, both 63cm. The 1986 is in very good condition, the 81 has a few more scratches but still looks amazing. I also have a full 9 speed ultegra 6510 group....
