The ear flaps aren't bad, cut down on the wind noise if nothing else. I tend to ride without the visor though. Plugs are just plastic finished to match the helmet.

Rudy Syton. Got the supercomp to give the option of ear coverage. Very nice helmet, comfortable and light. Well ventilated and the front vents can be plugged. Definitely recommended.
