I have the same issue, but I have been trying to use heart rate only instead of speed on easy rides. It's to easy to get focused on speed. When the heart rate goes up, back off a bit.

I think you're wrong here. Do you not say "nice ride" at the end of a group ride? It's just an acknowledgement of them from you. Why not say it in the virtual world to someone with a kudo?
