I think the forwrd seat postion is counterbalanced by the long wheelbase.

I like it forward because it opens my hip angle when I am leaning over the drops. In fact My femurs are probably too long because with my upper body so far forward the hip angle becomes very acute...

I'm already screwed on top tube length though (even with 150mm stem)....that will make it worse. Reversing the set-back thomsom (thereby making it forward) will make my top...

So now all I need to do is calculate how much top tube I need, so I don't end up being over extended over...

That was my next question......what does a 72 STA to 74 STA translate to in regards to forward seat position on say a 59 size bike?

Are we talking like 1 cm forward per degree of steepness?

I'm riding 72 and I hate it.....In fact I have to push the seat all the way forward on a thomson straight clamp.

THe UCI seat regulation is the only reason why these guys ride with the slack geometry. When you're going for it in the drops or hill climbing where is your body? (Answer: Forward)

To cruise at 30-35 mph I'd need my 60-11 :D
