I bent it back straight the best I could and it fixed...

Doesn't make a difference to me. I guess I prefer shifting, braking, and popping wheelies with flat bars. Drops are nice for getting aero on Sunday morning MUP rides.

There are a ton of ultra competitive guys in their 40's and 50's who race. About age 60 is where the numbers drop off.
