trying to find old dia compe canti external springs for my ancient brakes.

The spring on these cantis is external to the body of the canti, the loop of the spring fits over the boss one end...

what forces cause a bike to slip when crossinfg RR tracks obliquely

I,ve crossed many RR tracks, as we all have. Out of nowhere last week my bikes front wheel slipped left went down quick and hard obliquely crossing some track. My question was it lateral balancing...

western burbs(winfield) to chicago route

Anybody else out ther have experience in cycling to chicago from out here? Any other tested routes.

I chose early Sunday 0700, minimal road traffic, minimal pedstrian presence in urban area.

used a cartridge for the first time. i tried slow the wheel must not have properly seated, the tube bilged out and way more gas went in and bang. cool that was pretty loud. walk to bike store.

50 to 60 miles is long for me, I'm 53 about 160lbs, 50 to 80 miles a week. when i go the longer distance i have a planned destination suitable for resting; shade, a roof,
preferably food and water....
