148 miles in one day minus all the elevation gain would be a total push for me. You throw in about a 8000+ feet of actual climbing... I'd literally be dead.

I rode 700x32s all the way to Easton from Rattle Snake. I checked it out at the Cle Elum entrance and I wouldn't try it heading east beyond that point. Gravel really gets loose.
