I think your bike is earlier than a 1981 ........ as mine, per the specs, has a Chro/Mo fork. Your 1024 fork places it more in the 1979 range. :)

I have never had the short adhesive strips stay attached properly, they always come loose. I always wrap from the top down now, and never have an issue. :)

Chore Boy is a type of kitchen cleaning pad. I'm not sure they are available in France though.

Make sure the box says 100% COPPER. Some versions are just copper plated over steel, don't use these....
