What am I missing here?? $850 for a repaired bike that needs a repaint seems INSANE to me. The mixed bag components are also not that special.

no reason to stick in the 90s. DT shifters can be easily replaced with barcons..... or the drivetrain can always be updated with brifter compatible parts.

He routinely charges 2.5-4x a bike's typical value, because it's fully serviced and in pristine condition. Depends on you whether or not you think its worth it.
