I dont have access to 10-32 (4.8 mm) to make the attempt. However, I have one of the original shifter bolts and the 4.5 fits just as smoothly as the original.

Ive used this on one frame. The Pros: It is easy to use and it looks great. The Cons: it seems just as fragile and easy to chip off as cheap spray paint.

This is a European specced PX10. I have given it a thorough cleaning. It has some rust damage, primarily on the top tube where cable guides were located. Some of that rust is under the paint....
