I fought the fork.. and the fork won

I tried the one from RJ the bike guy as well today and it worked... somewhat.

I used 8mm stainless steel threaded rod, nuts and washers.
Managed to spread the fork from 120mm to 122mm then 127mm...

I'm afraid not. There's a hollow axle with two end caps. You might be able to turn in down in a lathe and shorten it but shortening the end caps means they don't fit anymore and you run into problems...

So far I really like the 90mm ones on my SilverAce, the front hasn't been bedded in yet but the rear offers enough stopping power on its own to make you shoot off the saddle if you're only holding on...
