I do not know of any group rides in that area, but do know that there is a bike path/trail north to Corolla and one south to Hatteras from KDH.

Correct on the Miyata Bikes being one of the Elites. I bought a 1988 Miyata 312 Competition road bike new back in late 1987 or early 1988. I still ride it today on rides of 30 to 50 miles per day...
