Get a a derailleur claw and you could run pretty much what your budget allows. You might need a front derailleur adapter also if you can't find the right size clamp on.

I have it on my my Miyata Titanium bike, 25mm, so...

I have it on my my Miyata Titanium bike, 25mm, so I can't just change it out. Only creaks when pedaling in the saddle and I've eliminated most every thing other than that.

If you are talking about the shimano outboard bearings, they are a standard size. The spindle is part of the crank.
