I take my Sony NEX-3 with me on long rides and tours. It doesn't have the lens selection or ergonomics of a DSLR but it has DSLR image quality in a smaller, lighter package. I think a good camera is...

I rode about 50-60km of hard-packed gravel road on my recent tour, and found the tyres I had fine. I only had the Dureme on the rear, so its hard to comment on it in particular. I deflated both my...

I tried 26x2 XRs once, found them too slow. I even tried just using them on the rear, but it was still slow.

I purchased a 26x2 Dureme to try on the rear on a 500 mile tour this month, and didn't...

I have a B17 on my LHT.

I'm around 140lbs and find it pretty comfortable. Having said that it still gets a bit uncomfortable if I have the majority of my weight on the saddle for extended periods...

I have a front Jannd Extreme Rack on my 54cm LHT, but I'm a little ambivalent about it.

The platform is nice, it looks tough and it feels pretty solid.

But it's also fairly heavy for a front...

I have a Hebie Bipod Stand on my LHT. The broad feet means it's pretty stable in dirt. It also makes it easy to service or to change a tire.

It can fall over if you use the stand on a...

If I may ask, how'd that work for you, did you notice an improvement? And how did you go about slicing the leather? I have a B17 leather saddle and was thinking of doing the same, because comfortable...

I'm about as tall as you, maybe a bit lighter. I have a Giant Defy 3 road bike and a 26" 54cm LHT. For what it's worth, my commute is a good 10 mins longer when I take the LHT (fitted with front,...

I just got my LHT and have been agonising over the front rack purchase. I can see both points of view, to me the Nice rack seems more in keeping with the style of the LHT - heavy, rugged, Surly brand...
