My front shifter (friction type) seems to be slightly damaged as it no longer stops at the usual places & was really loose but I was able to tighten it...

Thanks, those were temporary pedals, now replaced with SPD/platform combo pedals (I don't always feel like wearing "special" shoes) but yes, the saddle is ugly... and comfortable... and cheap.

In anything less than full sunshine, 1 white light on the bars, 1 red on the seat-post or seat-tube (different on my different bikes).

If I'm riding in full dark I add a light on the helmet too.
