Exactly! I've been using my Schwinn Continental around Albany, and Albany streets are dreadful. It's tight as a drum and very comfy. Add a Brooks suspended saddle if you want a bit more cushion.

I think Shimano's only DT shifters are of the Dura Ace variety at the moment, and they index for 7/8-speed(but I believe they have enough range to do 10-speed if not set to index).
