It'll clear the 36t but it won't be enough wrap. SRAM is not conservative like Shimano when it comes to these spec limits. Get a long cage or try 46/34 with 12-36 and see if they're lying about that...

My personal experience: we used to MTB on 570mm flat bars so anything wider than that feels wide and nice, but too wide and it gets cumbersome riding in traffic. I find 640mm to be a good sweet spot....

Ah the good old first gen Shimano road 10 speed. Only took 105, Ultegra, and Dura Ace cassettes, so the 28t is the biggest cog you'll ever fit without filing down the ridges.
