I wouldn't want to do that for a living either. Having to deal with the cold, wind, slushy roads, etc. with no option to NOT do it would turn it into a dreadful drudgery.

Maybe it is because you go so fast? If your bike speed is ALWAYS above the wind speed then you are always feeling it. That's what I'd go with.
