Looks like that bike would be an ideal candidate for 'rat rodding'. I have a set of alloy rims laced to a Shimano three-speed coaster hub and a Q/R hi-flange front hub, that would be ideal for that...

I agree. Part of my divestiture included a Lotus Classique, full Arabesque. It's the bike I most dreaded parting with. The price is fair, the driving is up to you, but I'd do it.

The method that's worked well for me is to screw the outer collar in snug with a wrench. Run the inner spindle in so it loads the tension...
