I'm not asking for anything special, I am just making the observation that we, as a society, subsidize the costs of automobiles, often in ways that we don't even think about. These subsidies hide the true cost of driving, and as a result, cause more people to use automobiles than they would use if they were not shielded from the full cost of their choices.
