This is what I was going to recommend, but watch out for construction on the C470 segment. They had that going earlier in the summer, but I'm not sure if they'd be done yet or not.
I just did the South Platte to C470 to Red Rock a couple of weeks ago and all the construction was done. It is very exposed to the sun once you leave Chatfield Res.
