Was recently at PB and checked out the GT Series 2. The frame is hydroformed aluminum and has no welds, so looks very smooth and is light. As far as components, Apex is lower in the SRAM group than 105 is in Shimano. Probably more the equivilant to Tiagra, which is still a good groupo. They are both quality entry-level road bikes. The best thing to do is take both for a test ride and see which one feels better for you.
