I have a question for someone who knows about this stuff.

I thought that SRAM had 1:1 pull, such that each shift of the lever moves the cable the same distance. And this same distance is accounted for by the cog spacing (and how far the derailleur moves each time). And I thought that Shimano had a different pull distance for each gear shift, and thus different spacing. Is this incorrect?
